Building a Positive Behaviour Culture Professional Development (PD) Group
- Online
- 13 Nov 2025 (14:00 - 16:00)
This Professional Development Group is open to all.
Building a positive behaviour culture – whole school strategies
This group will explore sustainable, evidence-based strategies for improving behaviour and belonging across your school or college. Grounded in the principle that behaviour is a form of communication, we’ll examine whole-school approaches that promote a calm, positive learning environment, drawing on resources from Whole School SEND and the Education Endowment Foundation.
We will explore:
- Identifying possible underlying factors and needs influencing behaviour through a range of approaches
- Responding as a staff appropriately and effectively to support learners – including those who are presenting higher risk behaviours
- Building a confident, informed, and consistent staff understanding and culture around behaviour
- Working with families and external agencies
Together, we’ll focus on the power of relationships and how to support all learners through a compassionate, informed lens to support effective engagement and achievement.
Aims:
Within this group, we aim to support you to:
- Plan and deliver high-quality CPD that strengthens whole-staff understanding of the principle that behaviour is a form of communication.
- Proactively and strategically shape a positive school culture around behaviour—whether establishing strong foundations or refining existing good practice.
- Embed an inclusive, consistent approach to behaviour that supports all pupils and underpins a respectful, purposeful learning environment.
