For professionals ready to work on a school improvement project over time.

Professional Development (PD) Groups are facilitated, cohort-based groups where professionals work on a defined school improvement project over time.

These are not webinars or one-off CPD sessions. Participation involves active engagement across a series of sessions, with work taking place in your setting between sessions.

Participants are expected to commit to attending all sessions and to work on their improvement project between sessions.

This professional development group supports SENCO/Headteachers to develop a high-quality inclusion strategy that is compliant with the new expectations within the SEND Reforms.

Feedback from schools highlights that SENCO time is often dominated by individual casework, statutory processes, and administrative demands. This can limit the capacity to think strategically, review whole-school provision, and plan for sustained, inclusive practice at scale. This programme creates protected time and expert support to address this challenge.

Through a structured programme of input, collaboration, and reflection, participants will be supported to move from operational demands towards confident, evidence-informed strategic leadership of inclusion.

The aim of the PD group is to enable participants to:

• Develop a clear understanding of the purpose, requirements and strategic role of an Inclusion Strategy
• Design an approach that meaningfully captures the views and experiences of key stakeholders (including pupils, families and staff)
• Apply the EEF Implementation Guidance to inform the planning, delivery and sustainability of SEND and inclusion priorities
• Strengthen their ability to evaluate impact, ensuring provision is effective, coherent and represents strong value for money 

Please note: This PD Group is delivered as a series of sessions and requires commitment to attending all sessions.

• Session 2: Monday 9 November 2026, 3:45-5:15pm (online)
• Session 3: Monday 11 January 2027, 3:45-5:15pm (online)
