Rachel is Headteacher at New Marston Primary School, an RLT primary school for children aged 2-11 with a hearing resource base and SLCN enhanced provision. She is also a teacher development trust facilitator. Prior to her role as headteacher, Rachel was a special education needs coordinator. Rachel is passionate about making sure school is a positive experience for everyone in the community: all pupils, including pupils with SEND, families and staff.

Rachel Vlachonikolis

Beth Middleton is the Enhanced Provision Lead at New Marston Primary School, where she leads a team supporting students with complex needs and autism. With expertise in PIVATS, VB-MAPP assessment and curriculum design, she creates structured, inclusive learning that meets the sensory and developmental needs of her pupils. In September 2024, she began teaching a group of pre-verbal children within a mainstream setting, developing approaches that promote communication, engagement, and regulation. Her work ensures that pupils with complex needs can spend meaningful time learning alongside their peers in mainstream classrooms. A committed educator and strategic leader, she champions high-quality, personalised education for all learners.

Beth Middleton

Matt McArthur is the Assistant Headteacher at Frank Wise School in Banbury, a special school for children and young adults aged between 2 and 19. Matt currently teaches in both primary and secondary classes, and is the subject-leader for Numeracy. He was Director of Teaching School at the school for five years, and continues to support the Oxfordshire Teaching School Hub with SEND-specific strands of Continuing Professional Development, School-to-School support and Initial Teacher Training. Matt enjoys cooking, keeping fit and reading, and is a committed life-long learner. He has just finished a Masters degree in Educational Leadership, and is currently doing his NPQH.

 

 

 

Matt McArthur

Until July 2023, Tina was the Head of an Outstanding all age special school for children and young people with severe and profound learning difficulties including those with an additional diagnosis of autism. Tina held this post for over 30 years, during which time the school expanded its roll by 90%. 

Tina trained at Birmingham University and holds a Master’s Degree in Childhood Autism, and has spent all of her career working within the special education field. Tina was a National Leader of Education until her retirement from Headship. Tina continues to work as a member of the South East Regional SEND team for Whole School SEND (nasen).  Aside from Special Educational Needs, Tina's particular interests are school improvement including ethical leadership and leadership development at all levels including governance. Tina firmly believes in the power of coaching as a supportive professional development tool for colleagues.

Tina Harvey

Kate is the Assistant Maths Hub Lead for London South West Maths Hub and the Strategic Mathematics Lead for GLF Schools, a multi-academy trust of 42 schools. With over 20 years experience in primary education, she is passionate about teacher professional development, believing that it is fundamental to sustained school improvement in mathematics.
