Join colleagues from across the region in exploring the principles and consideration involved in establishing additional provisions, what best practice looks like, and how Ofsted will evaluate these provisions.

The issue of SEND and inclusion continues to shape education policy and practice across the country. Sir Martyn Oliver HMI has said that inclusion is the thread that runs through every single thing that Ofsted now does. Schools nationwide are establishing additional provisions to meet the demands of both inclusion and the increase in more complex SEN needs in mainstream schools.

This conference will offer a national overview of how these provisions are emerging, provide practical insight into the principles and considerations involved in developing them, and highlight best practice. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of how Ofsted will evaluate these provisions, and engage with thinking around both the challenges and significant opportunities they present for inclusive education.

Objectives:

  •  Hear from experienced practitioners and leaders on the issue
  •  Understand the principles to be considered in establishing additional provisions
  •  Share practical tools and examples of good practice
  • Connect with practitioners across the East of England

Desired Outcomes:

  • Have an overview of how these additional provisions are developing nationally.
  • Understand how Ofsted will evaluate these provisions.
  • Gain insights into the thinking, challenges and benefits of establishing the provisions.

Speaker information and agenda updates will be added as soon as they are confirmed, please keep a lookout!
