For professionals ready to work on a school improvement project over time.

Professional Development (PD) Groups are facilitated, cohort-based groups where professionals work on a defined school improvement project over time.

These are not webinars or one-off CPD sessions. Participation involves active engagement across a series of sessions, with work taking place in your setting between sessions.

Participants are expected to commit to attending all sessions and to work on their improvement project between sessions.

The Department for Education is proposing that schools should produce an Inclusion Plan/Strategy by December 31, 2026. The proposed Inclusion Strategy should set out how you as a leader(s) will ‘ensure high quality ordinarily available provision which meet children’s needs’ and also meet the conditions of the inclusive mainstream funding.

This Professional Development Group will:

  • Support you to identify ‘commonly occurring, predictable needs’ and ‘barriers to learning pupils with additional learning face’ and baseline these.
  • Evaluate evidence-based activities and approaches to develop understanding around the support needed to meet the needs of your children.
  • Reflect on how support will be implemented to have the biggest impact across school.
  • Create a document that shows how funding is allocated using evidence.
  • How to embed the proposed seven principles of inclusion.

Please note: This PD Group is delivered as a series of sessions and requires commitment to attending all sessions.
