The increasing diversity of need in our schools cannot be met by working in silos or individual expertise. It requires a commitment to Inclusion by Design and considered approaches to maximise collaboration within our schools, with other schools and with other services. This conference will provide school and trust leaders the opportunity to learn from existing practice and frameworks, as well as engage in practical workshop activities to consider developments for inclusion within their own settings and contexts.

Schools are supporting a wider and more diverse range of needs and intentional collaboration - within school teams, with other schools and alongside specialist and partner services is essential to ensure all children have access to the best possible experiences and outcomes. This conference will give participants the opportunity to explore strategies that enable Inclusion by Design: a deliberate, whole-school approach so that all children have equitable access.

Across the day we will explore several connected themes. We will look at creating the right conditions for meaningful collaboration and inclusion through psychological safety. We will consider how to empower teachers to develop their adaptive practice and how leadership teams can be empowered to meaningfully collaborate for impact. We will also have the opportunity to consider how to draw on specialist expertise. The day will include practical workshops and case studies from schools already doing this work so that the day is grounded in real practice.

Throughout the day there will be time to reflect, network, share insights and best practice with colleagues across London.

Objectives:

By the end of this event, delegates will be able to:

  • Strengthen their understanding of how to create enabling conditions for teachers and leaders in their schools to design and build inclusive systems and practices by design.
  • Explore how to align whole-school strategies, systems and practices to maximise the impact of Inclusion by Design for all learners
  • Reflect on where they have existing expertise and how to draw on expertise from specialists and partnerships to enhance provision

Agenda:

Speaker information and agenda updates will be added as soon as they are confirmed, please keep a lookout!
