Specialist Spotlight: Tracking Progress and Achievement for learners with SEND

  • Online
  • 28 Sep 2026 (15:30 - 16:30)
Universal SEND Services
Online Event

This session is designed to support teachers and leaders in developing a clearer understanding of how to assess, track and understand the achievement and progress of pupils working below age-related expectations.

The session will explore the challenges of measuring progress and achievement outside of traditional national curriculum frameworks and offer realistic, school-friendly approaches to capturing small steps of learning. Participants will consider how to use assessment, baseline information and meaningful milestones to build a more accurate picture of progress and achievement over time.

Through practical examples and collaborative discussion, you will gain strategies to:

  • track progress in a purposeful and manageable way
  • identify and articulate next steps for learners
  • ensure assessment informs effective teaching and provision

By the end of the session, participants will leave with adaptable tools and ideas to implement within their settings. Whether you are refining existing systems or developing new approaches, this session will help you ensure that progress for all learners is recognised, valued and clearly evidenced.

Due to the interactive nature of these sessions, recordings will not be made available after the event.
