Have you ever tried a behaviour strategy that worked perfectly for one pupil… and seemed to do nothing for another? Or felt unsure of where to start supporting a student with SEMH needs? That’s a common experience for many teachers, especially as needs have become more complex.
What’s often missing isn’t effort or consistency - it’s a clear understanding of what’s driving the behaviour in the first place.
In this session, you'll be introduced to the PAIN framework, a simple way to make sense of what sits beneath needs-driven student behaviour. Using the framework will help you understand why your pupil’s struggling in school, what to prioritise first - and make choosing the right support strategies a lot simpler.
