For professionals ready to work on a school improvement project over time.

Professional Development (PD) Groups are facilitated, cohort-based groups where professionals work on a defined school improvement project over time.
These are not webinars or one-off CPD sessions. Participation involves active engagement across a series of sessions, with work taking place in your setting between sessions.

Participants are expected to commit to attending all sessions and to work on their improvement project between sessions.

This PD group will focus on Principals understanding of the SEND processes, empowering them with the knowledge and understanding to ensure that intervention-based strategies are included in day-to-day quality first inclusive teaching.

The content of the sessions will ensure Headteachers:

  1.  Have a deeper understanding of their statutory responsibilities under the Children& Families Act, SEND Code of Practice and (the one that catches people out in appeals) Equality Act
  2. Develop a deeper understanding of Inclusion and its impact on Belonging
  3. Foster High Quality INCLUSIVE teaching in their schools
  4. Undertake monitoring and evaluation activities through a SEND / Inclusion lens
  5. Ensure schools are Inclusive and ‘Ofsted ready’
  6. Ensure that interventions (suggested from outside agency reports) are embedded in day to day practice.
  7. Understand that all teachers are teachers of SEND

Please note: This PD Group is delivered as a series of sessions and requires commitment to attending all sessions.
