For professionals ready to work on a school improvement project over time.

Professional Development (PD) Groups are facilitated, cohort-based groups where professionals work on a defined school improvement project over time.

These are not webinars or one-off CPD sessions. Participation involves active engagement across a series of sessions, with work taking place in your setting between sessions.

Participants are expected to commit to attending all sessions and to work on their improvement project between sessions.

This PD Group is dedicated to defining the critical foundations required to launch and sustain high-impact inclusive provision across Sutton. Success in our Inclusion bases is never accidental; it is enacted through clear intention, continual reflection-on-practice, and robust quality assurance. From leadership and curriculum to specialist pedagogy and assessment, we are establishing principles that ensure every Inclusion base is not just a room, but a centre of excellence. 

This PD Group is aimed at Primary and Secondary senior leaders and SENDCos of schools that have - or are thinking of developing - a school-led Inclusion base; those self-developed spaces that schools are using to support children with more complex SEND profiles. 

Please note: This PD Group is delivered as a series of sessions and requires commitment to attending all sessions.

• Session 1: Friday 25 September 2026, 9:30am–3:00pm (in-person)
• Session 2: Tuesday 10 November 2026, 2:30-4:30pm (online)
• Session 3: Monday 14 December 2026, 2:30–4:30pm (online)
