PD Groups

For professionals ready to work on a school improvement project over time.

National Professional Development (PD) Groups are facilitated, cohort-based groups where professionals work on a defined school improvement project over time.
These are not webinars or one-off CPD sessions. Participation involves active engagement across a series of sessions, with work taking place in your setting between sessions. Participants are expected to commit to attending all sessions and to work on their improvement project between sessions.

This National PD group is designed for primary and secondary classroom teachers who want to strengthen their inclusive teaching practice and improve outcomes for learners with SEND in their classrooms. This programme uses the Whole School SEND CPD units and the Education Endowment Foundation’s evidence-based principles to help teachers remove barriers to learning and embed inclusive practice with confidence.

By taking part in this course, you will:

  • Learn practical, evidence-informed strategies for removing barriers to learning
  • Build a deeper understanding of the four broad areas of SEND need
  • Acquire tools to adapt your classroom practice and improve pupil outcomes
  • Engage in peer collaboration and reflective practice

Whether you're in the early stages of your career or looking to further refine your practice, this course will empower you to teach every learner with confidence and compassion.
Participants will be encouraged to complete Online Units to embed and support the content of the session.
Please note: This PD Group is delivered as a series of sessions and requires commitment to attending all sessions.
