In this webinar, WSS National SEND Leader Malcolm Reeve will introduce attendees to the ‘SEND in a Nutshell’ method of data analysis which helps senior leaders understand their school context within the regional and national picture and provides a starting point for whole-school development planning. The session will give attendees key insights into using national documents and census information to start discussions on SEND pedagogy, provision, resourcing and growing expertise and help them to evaluate SEND within their schools according to the Four Broad Areas of Need. The aim of the webinar is to help schools to prioritise SEND within their development plans by presenting formats and tools for strategic, long-term planning and impact evaluation. This session is suitable for senior leaders, governors and SENCOs.

Malcolm Reeve

Malcolm has worked in the field of SEND for 30 years and in that time has worked in adult provision, mainstream schools and special schools. He has worked in with children throughout the age range and with learning difficulties ranging from moderate to profound. Malcolm has been a Headteacher of three schools and one federation. He is a National Leader of Education, a Member of the National SEND Forum and Patron of the Centre Algarve holiday centre for people with special needs.
