Identifying and supporting speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) - Secondary & Further Education
- Online
- 13 Mar 2023 (16:00 - 17:00)
This live online networking session explores how education professionals can identify and support learners with speech, language and communication needs to ensure that they are able to engage with learning and make good progress. It provides an opportunity for delegates to network with colleagues from across the country, to share experiences and learn from others. One of our regional leads will facilitate the session and participants will be encouraged to ask questions and join in pertinent discussions.
Content will be responsive to the questions and conversations of participants but may cover the following themes:
- key signs that could indicate that a learner has a speech, language and/or communication need, and
- universal, targeted and specialist support for learners with SLCN, using a graduated approach
These sessions build on our online SEND CPD units. Delegates may find it helpful to access the online CPD unit: Identifying and supporting speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) (Unit 5)prior to joining the session.
NB: Due to the interactive nature of these sessions, recordings will not be made available after the event, so book now as places are limited!
