Inclusive practice is not a destination but an ongoing process of learning, reflection and refinement. Close-to-practice enquiry mirrors this process-oriented understanding of inclusion by engaging practitioners in cycles of reflection and action that inform the ongoing development of practice.
Introducing Whole School SEND's new resource, Developing Inclusive Practice Through Close-to-Practice Research, this webinar explores how professional curiosity can act as a starting point for a structured enquiry that supports professional learning and practice development. Through approaches such as Action Research and Lesson Study, participants will consider the role of learner and family voice, collaboration, ethical decision-making and evidence-informed professional learning in deepening and broadening inclusive practice.
The webinar will also introduce the Inclusive Practice Hub and provide practical guidance for practitioners interested in sharing and publishing close-to-practice enquiry. Whether findings are shared within a classroom, across a setting, through a MAT, within local professional networks or through the Inclusive Practice Hub, the session will explore how practitioner learning can contribute to collective professional knowledge and the ongoing development of inclusive practice.
