Join us for a day exploring the depths of Executive Functioning where attendees will gain practical knowledge and evidence-informed strategies to support genuine inclusive practice within their settings.

Our specialist speakers will delve deeper into the key areas within executive functioning, sharing their knowledge and expertise to develop knowledge and understanding around current research and evidence-based strategies that attendees can take away and use across mainstream primary and secondary settings.

Are the children within your classrooms struggling to understand and manage their emotions? Are some becoming overwhelmed with possible anxiety? Are some struggling with social stress? Are some finding it difficult to focus on tasks?

If yes, then join us for a day exploring the depths of Executive Functioning. Our specialist speakers will delve deeper into each key area within executive functioning, sharing their knowledge and expertise to develop understanding around current research and evidence-based strategies that you can take away and use.

Key themes will include:

  • understanding and being able to spot the signs of executive dysfunction
  • exploring the ‘hidden depths of working memory’ – what we don’t know and how we can support our children and families
  • managing complex emotions – both big and small
  • understanding inhibitory control – what can we do to support?

Anthony Maher from the Yorkshire and The Humber Regional Improvement for Standards and Excellence (RISE) team will also be sharing the regional action plan, training events and resources to support your setting. There will be time to ask questions and give feedback to support the regional development.
Throughout the day there will be time to reflect, network, share strategies and ideas, join discussions with colleagues across Yorkshire and the Humber and plan your next steps.

Objectives:

By the end of this event, delegates will be able to:

  • understand the regional RISE action plan, join key training and use key resources
  • have a better understanding of how to identify and support complex emotions
  • create a toolkit that can be used in your setting to support Executive Functioning and share with whole school teams
