Have you developed an approach that’s making a difference for learners with SEND? The Inclusive Practice Hub is a place for educators to share what they’ve tried, what they’ve learned and what others could take into their own settings.

This template guides you through writing up your work, step by step. It’s split into clear sections, each with prompts to help you decide what to include:

  • Context: your setting, phase, size and the learners involved
  • Focus: the issue or need you set out to address, and why it mattered
  • Rationale (optional): the evidence or experience that shaped your thinking
  • Implementation: what you did, how you did it, and what helped or got in the way
  • Building expertise and capacity: staff development and partnerships with families, agencies and the community
  • Impact: what changed for pupils, staff and systems, and how you know
  • Reflection: what worked, what you’d change and any unexpected outcomes
  • Sustainability: what will continue and what comes next
  • Key takeaways (optional): three to five practical recommendations for other settings

The template ends with a Quick Ethics Check to make sure your case study is ready to be published. It covers consent, approval from your setting, how participants are identified, and the use of images.

You can complete the template directly in the PDF and adapt it to suit your context. We also welcome submissions in other formats, but every submission must include a completed Quick Ethics Check. Send your case study and any supporting materials to info@wholeschoolsend.org.uk.
